Guy Wilkinson is a Sydney based freelance journalist, editor and photojournalist. Originally from England, he cut his teeth on a provincial London newspaper tackling hard–hitting pet rescue stories before heading to Australia where he landed a job as editor of a popular street press magazine.
While studying for his masters degree in journalism at the University of Sydney, Guy began freelance writing for titles such as The Sun Herald, Sydney Morning Herald, The West Australian, Ninemsn, The Big Issue, Yen, Frankie, Outer Edge, Vacations & Travel Magazine and more.
He recently held a staff position as Features Editor for Virgin Blue Voyeur in-flight magazine, commissioning, editing and writing articles on design, business, culture, technology and travel. Now freelancing, Guy specialises in travel features, profiles, culture pieces and film reviews.
In 2010 he graduated from AWARD School, Sydney, Australia’s number one school for creative thinking and copywriting before deciding a ponytail and coke habit wasn't really for him.
Aside from writing, film and photography, Guy is a fiend for all things music related. He is particularly keen on Blues, Jazz, Rockabilly, Reggae, Motown, Gospel, Soul and these days even Country (not the Kenny Rogers variety mind). If you’re an editor with an open mind (if that's not an oxymoron) and a sense of adventure, (likewise) or just someone with a great story to tell, please get in touch.
